New York-based consultancy services company OS Studios, Activision Blizzard Media, and Cannes Lions have teamed up for the Cannes Classic, a 3v3, 64 team Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War competition to take place during the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in June.
The competition, which is open to teams from agencies across North America, has no prize pool, but the winning team will win a trophy, custom jerseys, and bragging rights. Registration for the event closes on June 5.
The competition will start with 64 teams for the first round June 16 -17, until 32 winning teams remain. On June 21, those 32 teams will battle until 16 remain, and on June 22, those 16 teams will be widdled down to four teams, who will battle in a semi-final and then a one-on-one final.
The competition will be part of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, which will be broadcast live online this year from June 21 – 25. The festival is aimed at brand communication, marketing, and advertising professionals, and is inspired by the Cannes Film Festival.
While OS Studios may not be the most recognizable name in esports and gaming, it has worked with several important brands, organizations, and companies including Bud Light, NBA, Twitch, Washington Justice, Twitter, Amazon, Nike, NBA 2K League, 2K Games, Activision Blizard Media, Overwatch League, Version1, and streamer Nick “NICKMERCS” Kolcheff, among others.
