At least two SEA teams will feature at the ONE Esports Jakarta event in April

In December One Esports brought us the Dota 2 World Pro
Invitational from Singapore, which featured 12 of the best teams in the world –
now the next iteration of the event is shaping up as Regional qualifiers for Southeast
Asia have been confirmed.

The first One Esports event from Singapore last year
unfortunately only featured one Southeast Asian squad, which was odd for a
tournament held in the region. However, the next event, which will take place
in Jakarta later this year, is set to feature at least two teams from the SEA
region – with one coming from the Kuala Lumpur qualifier and another from the Jakarta
qualifiers. These two teams will join 10 others as they battle for another amazing
prize pool of $500,000 and the title of One Esports Dota 2 World Pro
Invitational: Jakarta champions.

These two qualifiers are set to take place on March 7th-8th
for Kuala Lumpur and March 14th-15th for Jakarta and
currently each qualifier has three of the four competing teams confirmed. In
each regional qualifier, four teams will fight – three of which have made their
way through an open qualifier for their region. The final team in each will be
a direct invite, but at this point in time there is no information of who these
directly invited teams might be. The teams currently in each regional qualifier
are:

Kuala Lumpur

  • Cignal Ultra (Philippines Qualifier winners)
  • 496 Gaming (Vietnam Qualifier winners)
  • MS Chonburi (Thailand Qualifier winners)
  • TBD (direct invite)

Jakarta

  • Tyrants Uprising (Singapore Qualifier winners)
  • Team Oracle (Malaysia Qualifier winners)
  • T1 (Indonesia Qualifier winners)
  • TBD (direct invite)

The winner of each of the above groups will claim a spot among
some of the best Dota 2 teams in the world, fighting at the ONE Esports World
Pro Invitational in Jakarta. The event itself has its playoff dates set as
April 17th-19th at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition –
with details on tickets coming soon. With the SEA region producing some of the
best Dota 2 in recent times at both qualifiers, Minors and Majors, it will be
great to see more teams joining in to fight on their home ground at the ONE
Esports Dota 2 World Pro Invitational: Jakarta.
