As 2021 begins and teams begin to announce new rosters, Chicken Fighters have seen a few changes which were confirmed via the Dota 2 Dota Pro Circuit registration page.
Back in April of last year, Ninjas in Pyjamas made the decision to pick up Chicken Fighters, a team which were fairly new to the Dota 2 scene. This proved to be quite a tough transition for the players as they struggled to find their footing in countless regional events. Everything came to a head for NiP when they decided to cease their Dota 2 operations in November, leaving Chicken Fighters to go on alone once again. The single tournament which the team entered ended with a fifth/sixth place finish and now, as the new DPC season looms, the team have made some new changes.
According to the Twitter post made by Rasmus “Chessie” Blomdin, two new players appear on the squad: namely himself and Andreas “Xibbe” Ragnemalm. Both of these players were once a part of the OG.Seed roster which ended their time in the game back in July. Further confirmation of the team came when the Dota 2 Major and Minor registration page was updated, featuring the two new additions and confirming which players were being replaced. With Akbar “SoNNeikO” Butaev departing from the roster in early July, it was Jonáš “SabeRLight-“ Volek who would also be leaving the team.
The full new Chicken Fighters lineup is:
- Ondřej “Supream Štarha
- Charlie “Charlie” Arat
- Rasmus “Chessie” Blomdin
- Andreas “Xibbe” Ragnemalm
- Adrian “Era” Kryeziu
It will be interesting to see what these two new additions can do for the roster, considering that they have played together previously – and with the likes of Supream, a quickly rising star in the scene, CF could look to contend with the best once again.
