Dota 2: T1 Announces New Roster and Coaching Staff
T1 have just announced their final roster including new Head Coach Byonghoon “cCarter” Choi.
Back in August last year, we announced that T1 were finally dipping their toes into the DPC. Planning to form a roster around South-Korean star player Lee “Forev” Sang-don.
The team competed in a few non DPC events, including the VKGAME Battle of Dawn as their roster bounced around. But now they’ve just announced their finalized roster ahead of the March 14 Jakarta Qualifier for the ONE Esports Dota 2 World Pro Invitational Jakarta — and it’s certainly not lacking star power.
T1’s new roster
Sangdon “Forev” Lee, Muhammad Rizky “InYourDreaM” Anugrah, Yi Xuan “Xuan” Guo, Dominik “Black^” Reitmeier and Tri “Jhocam” Kuncoro will form T1’s squad going into the Jakarta Qualifier.
They’ll be supported by new Head Coach Byonghoon “cCarter” Choi; known for earning titles at the LCK 2016 Spring Playoffs and LCK 2017 Spring Playoffs. Noa “MP” Pyo and Nicholas Kelvin Ileto “Xfreedom” Lim will providing additional coaching support alongside cCarter.
In addition, Hyunjin “Xyun” Choi will serve as tactical analyst and will assist cCarter in coaching the team.
Joe Marsh, CEO of T1 announced the final roster today. “I’m thrilled to debut our T1 Dota 2 roster and coaching staff,” said Marsh, “We’ve worked hard to build a team that is ready for The International stage and we’re confident in this team’s potential.” Before adding that he “can’t wait” to see what cCarter will bring to the Dota 2 community.
T1’s League of Legends team are three time LoL Worlds Champions. The organization also has teams competing across Fortnite, PUBG, Super Smash Bros, Hearthstone, Apex Legends, Overwatch and FIFA Online4. With the addition of their new Dota 2 team, it seems like T1 are leaving no stones unturned along the road to conquering every major competitive gaming segment in esports.
We’ll have to wait to see how T1 will perform in the Qualifier — but on paper the new roster looks like it has the potential to be very scary.
