Esports organization Team Secret announced Thursday that it has signed a sponsorship deal for its PUBG Mobile squad with Malaysian energy drink 100 Plus. The 100 Plus logo will be featured on the team jersey of Team Secret’s Malaysian division.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“We are extremely proud to work with 100 Plus in building a holistic training program for our Malaysian esports players, which includes the critical aspect of rehydration and replenishment to fuel the long hours of grind required for athletes,” Team Secret CEO John Yao told The Esports Observer.
In fact, it’s not the first time that 100 Plus signed deals related to PUBG Mobile and esports. In 2019, the brand sponsored Tencent’s $500K USD PUBG Mobile Club Open (PMCO) Fall Split Global Finals in the capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur.
Team Secret is widely known as the best Dota 2 team in 2020. Without Valve’s annual Dota 2 event The International, the team won $1.11M prize money during the year of the pandemic and set a Dota 2 record by winning seven grand finals without losing a single match (21-0). The team also ranked top 9 in TEO’s TOP 10 Teams of 2020 by Total Winnings.
