Kevin Durant and Rich Kleiman’s Thirty Five Ventures Invest in Andbox

Andbox, the New York-based esports organization behind the New York Subliners of the Call of Duty League and the New York Excelsior franchise of the Overwatch League , has announced that it has partnered with the NBA’s Kevin Durant and Rich Kleiman’s Thirty Five Ventures as investors and creative partners. As part of the agreement, Durant and Thirty Five Ventures will look to be active partners across a range of initiatives between the two which will include creating new entertainment content and designing new merchandise collections. 

The amount of investment was not disclosed.

The 32-year-old-Durant, now with the Brooklyn Nets after winning the NBA Championship in the 2017-2018 season, has had a long affinity with esports and has said that fans can look forward to watching him not only basketball, but games such as Call of Duty alongside players from the Subliners.

Andbox owns and operates teams in the Call of Duty League, Overwatch League, and Valorant, and has the support and backing of people such as actor and producer Michael B. Jordan, David Levy, Jeff Raider, Neil Blumenthal, Adam Leibsohn, and Roham Gharegozlou. While gaining a foothold in New York, Andbox and its teams have created and hosted retail pop-ups, watch parties, player meet and greets, amateur tournaments, and live games at major venues for its professional teams.
