OG.Seed make two stunning comebacks to eliminate Evil Geniuses from Dota Summit 12
In pandemic times when the Major gets cancelled and the series we’ve all been waiting for months, OG vs Evil Geniuses turns to be just a distant dream, OG.Seed became true Dota 2 warriors able to eliminate the NA finest team from the Dota Summit 12.
Evil Geniuses were sent to watch the grand finals from the couch after a 1-2 defeat in front of OG.Seed, who managed to make two miraculous comebacks to secure themselves a top two finish in the tournament. EG crushed the Europeans in game one despite playing against the powerful combo Faceless Void- Snapfire. Game two started again with EG taking an early lead, but as the self-confidence went a bit too high, OG.Seed were served the opportunity to turn the tides and punish EG with Omar Mohammad “Madara” Dabachach’s Phantom Lancer.
Game three was by far the most exciting one to unfold during the three days of Dota Summit 12. EG were once again starting strong with a mid lane Storm Spirit played by Abed Yusop. The continuous disruption in all OG.Seed lanes allowed Artour “Arteezy” Babaev to farm his Spectre and join the fights only to secure kills, pushing his team towards the grand finals with each fight. However, through all the madness, Madara was able to stay at top of the networth charts with Terrorblade and when the game seemed to be impossible to win, he decided to purchase a Divine Rapier. It was around the 40 minute mark when the game became incredibly tense. Madara lost the Rapier, which was picked by Abed, and at that point, EG were given by Dota Plus a 98% win probability. But in a true OG fashion, the Seeds kept calm and managed to reclaim the Rapier from Abed and marched straight to the enemy ancient undeterred by repair kits and the final desperate defense of the Evil Geniuses.
The game finished with EG leading 45 to 31 in the kills score, while also holding nearly 20K gold advantage. While EG’s tournament run was brought to an end yet again in the third place, OG.Seed are heading into the Dota Summit 12 grand finals where they get to play against Fnatic.
