Reports: Former Dfuse players to sign with BDS Esports

According to Guillaume “neLendirekt” Rathier’s report on 1pv.fr, former Dfuse Team players will sign with BDS Esports.  The French squad had a deep run in the Stage 1 European Masters One tournament of the Valorant Champions Tour after the team was dropped by Dfuse on March 7.

In a statement by the Dfuse organization, it cited issues with administration for parting ways with the roster. According to neLendirekt, the team and organization went their sperate ways because the organization “has not kept its obligations towards its players.”

New BDS Esports roster history

The reported new BDS roster includes Alex “AKUMAAAAA” Lo Bello, Rodolphe “rodeN” Bianco, Jonathan “TakaS” Paupard, Dylan “hoppY” Aube and Logan “logaN” Corti. The squad will also bring along its coach and former substitute player Flavien “wallax” Lebreton.

This team started as the amateur squad Opportunists. The squad formed in July of 2020 and announced its intention to sign with an organization. At the time, Team Vitality in-game leader Bayram “bramz” Ben Redjeb was a part of the team and pushed for organizational backing. He left to join Vitality in September. AKUMAAAAA  joined the squad before the move was announced.

Opportunists had deep runs in both First Strike qualification tournaments. They were ultimately knocked out by FunPlus Phoenix in the first qualifier, then VASTA Gaming in the second. On November 26, after the qualifier stage, Dfuse team signed the squad. Under the Dfuse Team banner, they went on the qualify to the first Masters tournament. The French squad upset multiple high-ranked European squads to make the event. They defeated Giants Gaming and the top squad G2 Esports on their way to qualification. The day after they upset G2, March 7, the team parted ways with Dfuse.

As an unsigned squad, they went on to knock another highly touted team, Alliance, out of the tournament. They then bowed out in the group stage after a loss to Guild Esports. The team drew a lot of eyes as one of the few unsigned squads at the event and now, BDS Esports will reportedly sign Dfuse
