Revamped Format Revealed For BLAST Premier Championship

Tournament operator BLAST has announced changes to its year-long  BLAST Premier Championship Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament series.

The company will introduce a BLAST Premier Qualifying Series, making the competition more open and accessible to teams throughout the world. Success in these regional qualifiers will bring teams to the spring and fall showdowns with the potential to qualify for finals events and an eventual World Final.

The World Final will also incorporate other non-BLAST tournaments, with the winners of Flashpoint 3 and 4, ESL Pro League 13 and 14, and the Valve Fall Major each qualifying for the World Final.

Additionally, any team not already affiliated with BLAST through its member program will receive a participation fee for qualifying and competing in one of these competitions. BLAST’s 12 member teams will automatically qualify for the spring and fall group stages. The list of member teams can be found here.

Combined, the various BLAST Premier tournaments will have a total prize pool of $2.48M USD.
