SLi Kyiv Minor team and hero statistics: Batrider and Timbersaw most contested heroes of the meta
The StarLadder Imba TV Dota 2 Minor Season 3 was the third DPC Minor of the 2019-2020 season and Team Aster smashed their way through it. It was played in Kyiv from the 5th to the 8th of March. Team Aster seemed to be a league above all the others, winning 11 out of the 12 games they played. They defeated Alliance 3-1 in the grand finals and have punched a ticket for themselves in the ESL One LA Major. Let’s look at the team and hero statistics for the tournament.
Team Statistics for the SLi Kyiv Minor
Hero Statistics for StarLadder ImbaTV Dota2 Minor
Total games played: 39
Total heroes picked: 85
Number of heroes unpicked or unbanned: 29
Most picked hero: Rubick (18 games, 9 wins, 50% win rate)
Most contested hero: Batrider (39 games, either picked or banned in 100% of the games)
Most banned hero: Batrider (34 games)
Hero with the highest win rate (10 games or more): Ancient Apparition (11 games, 9 wins, 81.82% win rate)
Hero with lowest win rate (10 games or more): Snapfire (15 games, 6 wins, 26.67% win rate)
Batrider is clearly the most feared or sought out hero of the meta, with a 100% contest rate at the Kyiv Minor. He was only picked in five games (banned in all the others) and of those, he won four, so maybe there is something to the hero right now. Timbersaw was also a very popular hero this tournament with a 94.97% contest rate (banned in 32 games, picked in 3 which were all won by the team picking Timbersaw). It’ll be interesting to see if the top tier teams at ESL One LA feel the same way about these two heroes. Snapfire was nerfed in 7.24b and it is showing. Grandma has an abysmal win rate and might not be as popular as before in the upcoming Major.
The ESL One LA Major starts on the 15th of March and will go on till the 21st of March. The 7.24 patch has been tested on online qualifiers and a couple of LAN events, but this will be the first tournament that will have the best teams in the world going at it against each other on this patch. It will be interesting to see how they interpret it and what new ideas come to the fore. The coronavirus situation is worsening in Los Angeles, but hopefully won’t affect the event. No team has mentioned on not traveling for the Major, but Team Aster did cite visa issues, so it isn’t clear whether they will be able to travel or not. In case they pull out, the runners-up from the Minor, Alliance, will most probably be allowed to take their place. We will know for sure in the days to come.
