After today only two game days remained in the group stage
of WePlay! Pushka League and thus we would see teams completing their final few
games – with Team Liquid and OG.Seed being on the cards for the European
Although OG.Seed were the first eliminated team to be
confirmed at WePlay! Pushka League, their victory over OG proved that they
definitely still had some fight in them, although it was merely for pride. On the
other hand, Liquid had recently found their footing at this event, as they had been
on a spree of wins over some of the best and a win today would help them secure
a playoff spot.
Going into the first game it was Liquid from start to
finish, which only took near 25-minutes to be reached – as Liquid stomped their
opponent. Seed were never allowed to get off the mark with Zakari ‘Zfreek’
Freedman’s Earthshaker barely breaking level eight before the game ended.
Continuing on their high, Liquid seemed to take complete control over the next
game too – but this time Seed had much more fight in them and were not about to
give up so easily.
Although they did throw everything that they had at Liquid,
putting up an extremely admirable fight, it was nowhere near enough to even up
the series. For Liquid, the victory pushes them all the way into second place
in the EU bracket for the time being while OG.Seed drop to last place for now –
which could result in them being demoted to Division 2 depending on OG’s final
series against Ninjas in Pyjamas on Wednesday.
The day is not over just yet at the WePlay! Pushka League as
the CIS bracket continues now with HellRaisers and Team Spirit closing things
out for today next up.
