Tencent Esports Names Kappa, Razer, ASUS, and More as Franchising Partners

Mars Hou, general manager of Tencent Esports and vice president of Tencent Games, unveiled at the Tencent Global Esports Summit that the company has signed partnership deals with five brands including Razer, ASUS, massage device brand SKG, apparel brand Kappa, and Canadian multinational fast food restaurant chain Tim Hortons. All brands were named as the franchising partners of Tencent Esports. 

Financial terms and the duration of the franchising deals were not disclosed.

According to the company, Razer will produce Tencent Esports co-branded gaming peripherals, including mice, mousepads, keyboards, and headphones; SKG will produce a co-branded electronic neck-massage device for helping players to deal with neck pain; ASUS will produce a co-branded internet router; Kappa will create co-branded apparel with “special materials” for esports players; and Tim Hortons will establish a co-branded esports-themed coffee restaurant. 

During the summit, except for the coffee restaurant, all co-branded products were showcased behind the main stage. The Esports Observer also noted that all apparel staff were wearing at the summit was also provided by Kappa and featured Kappa and Tencent Esports logos.

“Since 2018, Tencent Esports has had 11 partners, which have partnered more than three-years,” Hou said at the summit. “Those five brands are our first franchising partners.”
