If you’re hungry for details about all 5 star characters in Genshin Impact, you’ve come to the right place. For those new to the game, 5 star characters are the strongest and most unique fighters you can recruit for your party, often having access to powerful abilities capable of easily annihilating foes. They’re tough to come by, but if you have a squad of 5 star characters you’ll become virtually untouchable as you traverse the vast lands of Teyvat.
So, if you’re curious about who the 5 star characters in Genshin Impact actually are, as well as how to add each one of them to your team, this comprehensive Genshin Impact All 5 star characters guide will ensure that you build your party as efficiently and effectively as possible.
All 5 Stars: Genshin Impact – Every 5 Star Character
Here’s the list of all seven 5 star characters currently available to play as in Genshin Impact.
Fortunately, you actually start Genshin Impact playing as a 5 star character. Traveler is the protagonist of Genshin Impact and has two distinct forms: Anemo and Geo. Anemo is wind-based, giving you access to knockdown and crowd control abilities, whereas Geo channels a rockier kind of energy based on summoning boulders and crystals.
Unfortunately, if you’ve read our Genshin Impact character tier list you’ll know that both versions of Traveler — despite being technically 5 star — aren’t actually that good. They’re not bad! But not great either.
Diluc is arguably the most valuable character in the whole game, so it’s no wonder he’s rated as 5 star. He’s a Pyro character, meaning that his abilities are fire-based. His Searing Onslaught ability is a powerful melee attack that has the unique property of being usable three consecutive times per charge. The cooldown is also short, meaning that Diluc is a DPS machine. His Ultimate, Dawn, summons a massive, fiery phoenix that totally decimates entire legions of enemies.
Unforunately, Diluc is only available to unlock via Wishes, meaning that you’ll need to spend real world money or grind Primogems by completing a lot of challenges to get him. Or maybe you’re fortunate enough to have pulled him with the free Fates you get at the start of the game — if so, I am immensely jealous of your luck.
Jean is an Anemo character who neatly fits into any support slot. She’s capable of healing your team while simultaneously setting up combos for the likes of Diluc and Razor. Despite being 5 stars, Jean is outshone by other characters in terms of both her crowd control abilities and healing output — however, her combination of the two is nothing to scoff at, and she’s a worthy addition to any team.
Like Diluc, you’ll need to unlock Jean via Wishes.
Keqing is a DPS character that has a pretty basic kit — however, basic is not synonymous with bad. Despite not being the flashiest character around town, Keqing is a DPS machine who is capable of easily slicing through entire mobs. Her Electro abilities are pretty standard and unpretentious, but they’ll incapacitate enemies lightning fast.
Keqing is only available via Wishes. This is becoming a trend, isn’t it?
Unlike Keqing, Mona is very flashy. She can sprint across water, summon dummies to distract the enemy, and her Ultimate traps your opponents in little bubbles. She’s primarily a support character, in that all of her abilities mostly set enemies up for DPS fighters.
You guessed it — Mona is only available to unlock through Wishes.
Qiqi, simply put, is one of the best characters in the game. She’s the best Cryo fighters as well as the best support character. We actually put together an entire Qiqi build guide, so if you’d like to know more, check that out at the link.
Only available via Wishes. Sigh.
Venti is just Traveler Anemo except a million times better. Imagine your character, and now imagine it was actually useful. That’s Venti.
… Unlockable exclusively via Wishes.
That’s all of the 5 star characters in Genshin Impact. If you’re after more help, check out our Genshin Impact complete guide and walkthrough.
