Becoming a billionaire is no easy feat. It takes time, dedication, and a lot of hard work, to say the least. But what about becoming a billionaire – or should we say, bellionaire – in a life simulator game like Animal Crossing? Is that even possible? Well, one Animal Crossing (GCN) speedrunner will soon become the first legitimate bellionaire in the game.
YouTuber and Twitch streamer BrianMp16 shared his journey on Reddit, detailing the amount of time and sheer number of hours he’s put into the game to achieve this goal. In his Reddit post, he invites fans and followers to witness the finale of his journey by tuning in to his Twitch stream tomorrow, March 6, beginning at 5PM EST.
Though his journey is about to come to a close, BrianMp16 has been actively pursuing numerous Animal Crossing accomplishments over the last 14 years. Some of his accomplishments include 100%’ing, maxing HRA score, speedrunning, hacking and modding, reverse engineering, glitch hunting, and everything else in between.
He holds numerous speedrunning world records, including All Debts, Golden Net, Completed Museum, and more. And tomorrow, he will complete one feat: becoming the first person to legitimately earn one billion bells and get the Post Model, a model of the in-game post office costing 999,999,999 in savings.
Earning the Post Model is an Animal Crossing goal that many others have achieved before (thanks to a Nook Code that players can simply enter to procure the item), though none have done it through legitimate ways. However, BrianMp16 has been playing the “Stalk Market” for the past 170 hours by continuously buying and selling turnips in order to ring up that hefty sum of bells.
In an FAQ post on the topic, BrianMp16 says “It’s always been my dream to legitimately obtain every item in the game […] I have legitimately obtained every other item in the game (including the Mailbox at 100,000,000 bells) so this is the final item. And the fact that no-one has ever done this before is an added incentive.”
BrianMp16 will make Animal Crossing history tomorrow at 5PM EST on his Twitch channel, a fitting end date only two weeks before the release of the highly anticipated Animal Crossing: New Horizons game for the Nintendo Switch.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be released worldwide for the Nintendo Switch on March 20, 2020. The game is available for pre-order now for $59.99.
