Call of Duty Warzone will be available to download today on PC through both Modern Warfare and its own client on Battle Net. This will mean registering a Call of Duty account and it will also mean making sure you have the Battle Net launcher installed. Modern Warfare gamers will simply need to update their game to gain access to Warzone today. And according to Nvidia, by installing their latest drivers on RTX machines, COD fans will be able to reach 144+ FPS performance.
Activision has warned that downloads could be slow, due to demand and the size of the new Battle Royale experience.
This process has already begun for Modern Warfare gamers, with the new download weighing in at around 20GB.
Warzone will also be free-to-play, but that version of the game will not be available to download on PC until around 7pm GMT (12pm PT).
This will be much larger to download, weighing in at around 100GB, and this is when the whole process is likely to slow down.
However, another thing all PC gamers using Nvidia Graphics Cards can do to be prepared today is to install the right drivers.
Nvidia has announced that Call of Duty Warzone will be part of its GeForce Game Ready Driver lineup.
Nvidia is hoping to deliver day-one optimizations and enhancements for Call of Duty: Warzone on PCs using a GeForce RTX or GeForce GTX graphics.

Here’s what fans can expect if they have the right stuff download today for COD Warzone, with Nvidia telling fans:
“It’s available to download from Battle.net right now, and we’ve released an accompanying Call of Duty: Warzone Game Ready Driver that’ll deliver optimized performance to reach 144+ FPS for competitive play.
“Once you’re in-game, you’ll experience the largest Call of Duty battleground in history, with up to 150 players, in two modes featuring Call of Duty Modern Warfare’s signature gameplay.
“To experience it at its very best, play on PC where GeForce RTX graphics cards deliver 144+ FPS, giving you a better chance of hitting your target, and giving you a faster, clearer experience when paired with a high refresh rate G-SYNC monitor.
“As we demonstrated recently, running at high framerates can give you an edge in competitive multiplayer shooters, making the difference between winning a chicken dinner, or going home with a doggy bag.”
Warzone gamers on PC who are using a GeForce RTX or GeForce GTX graphics card will also be able to automatically record footage using NVIDIA Highlights.
To enable Highlights, load GeForce Experience before you boot Warzone, enter the settings, and ensure “In-Game Overlay” is on. Then load Warzone, and you’ll be prompted to activate Highlights.
At the end of matches and your session, you can review Highlights, trim and edit, and upload to YouTube and social media. Alternatively, access the GeForce Experience Gallery by pressing Alt+Z at any time.
Nvidia says you can download the new GeForce Game Ready 442.59 WHQL driver for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare – Warzone through GeForce Experience, which can be found under the Drivers tab through clicking the big green button to download and install.
