Cyberpunk 2077’s Next Night City Wire Is Coming October 15 And Is All About Vehicles

We’re getting tantalizingly close to the launch of Cyberpunk 2077. Fans of CD Projekt Red’s previous work have been salivating over the chance to finally get their hands on it. Since the game has gone gold, that means no more delays. So come November, we’ll all be able to experience what it’s like to have cool robo-arms and Keanu Reeves as an imaginary friend.

But even though the game’s release isn’t too far away, there are still many questions that have yet to be addressed. While we won’t know everything about Cyberpunk before it releases, the next episode of Night City Wire will address one subject CD Projekt Red hasn’t talked much about: vehicles.

Episode 4 of Night City Wire – which is CD Projekt Red’s online preview series for Cyberpunk 2077 – is looking to fill in the blanks when it comes to vehicles. According to the handy little tweet above, this will premiere on October 15th at 6 PM CEST (which is 12 PM EDT or 9 AM PDT). It also promises new gameplay footage and other exciting announcements.

Trailers for Cyberpunk 2077 have always shown that you’ll be able to drive fancy future cars throughout Night City. However, there isn’t a lot of information regarding how these vehicles control or what they can do. Considering that these are cars made in a time where you can replace your brain with a computer, you have to imagine they’ll be capable of performing some improbable, high-tech feats (and at least one of them better be able to fly.)

While there’s plenty of excitement and hype for this game, CD Projekt Red has come under fire recently for continuing to have its developers work overtime hours and crunch hard to meet their current deadline. This contradicted a promise made by the company to reduce or outright eliminate crunch time, which hasn’t made anyone in a management position at the Poland-based developer look particularly good.

Crunch is a controversial topic in the game industry these days. Seeing a high-profile company like CD Projekt Red still using it is quite disappointing. However, it’s doubtful that this will come up in Night City Wire as that video will likely stick to showing us the shiny cars we can drive.

As for the game itself, it’s on track to release on November 19th for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. It’ll even be released on Google Stadia (for all 6 of you still using that.) Hopefully, the worst of the crunch period is over and these programmers will be allowed to get some sleep.
