Death Note Collaborates With Identity V For Terrifying Cross-Over Event

NetEase’s asymmetrical multiplayer game, Identity V, is collaborating with Death Note to offer a massive cross-over event from May 27 to June 24. Clues hinting at the event have been scattered throughout Identity V for a while, but today marks its official reveal.

Details about the upcoming event are scarce, although it sounds like several exclusive cross-over rewards will be made available to all players. There’s also a QR code you can scan to earn some in-game Crossover Essence. Beyond that, the event is still a mystery, with NetEase keeping specifics tightly under wraps.

“When it comes to choosing crossover partners, Identity V is known for favoring quality over popularity, as well as the subtle connections between the two in terms of narratives, styles, and the atmosphere they create,” reads the announcement. “In both Death Note and Identity V, the protagonists of these tales struggle against all odds, fighting through desperate situations time and again while resolutely pursuing their own ideals of justice and honor. The essence of these stories share these principles at their core, and this is why fans of both franchises can’t wait to see what this crossover has in store for them.”

NetEase said information about the cross-over will be announced in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for more info.

Identity V is no stranger to cross-overs, having previously brought Danganronpa and Persona to its bleak world.

If you’re unfamiliar with the popular mobile game, Identity V plays out a bit like Dead by Daylight. Several players must work together to escape from their captor – who is constantly on their trail and controlled by another player. Each character comes with their own set of abilities, making teamwork and planning critical to surviving each round.

Identity V is available on both iOS and Android. The Death Note cross-over event is expected to kick off on May 27 and run until June 24.
