FIFA 20 Shapeshifters Team 2 Release time, FUT predictions and more

EA Sports last week released the first batch of players for the FIFA 20 Shapeshifters campaign.

For those who missed the news, or simply don't know how the Shapeshifters Ultimate Team players work, here's the gist:

Some of FUT’s most popular players will receive specific upgrades that shift them seamlessly into new positions on the pitch.

There are also tweaks to players, Preferred Foot, Work Rates and all-round Stat Upgrades.

Not all players get all these upgrades. and changes enable brand new squad building options in FUT

At the time of the announcement, EA Sports announced there would be two teams released, just like the developers has done with most FUT Campaigns in the latest iteration of the game.

Here's everything you need to know ahead of the second teams launch.

EA Sports typically launch new Ultimate Team campaigns at 6pm GMT on Friday nights.

So we should see the second team available on Friday, February 28 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM GMT.

If this second squad is like the first, we can likely expect to see another 15 shapeshifter cards in FUT packs.

There's also likely to be a further two more untradeable cards released, one via SBC and another through objectives.

The Shapeshifters teams are so hard to predict, because there's simply no rhyme or reason to any of the picks.

So far the only clues released from EA includes on loading screen that includes a few choice stats to hint at three players who will make the grade.

One is a 95-rated RW, which could be some suggest Christiano Ronaldo. Why? Well, if you do enough digging, it kind of makes sense. Here's Dexerto to explain why:

"Not only does his default card ship as a ST, he also doesn't have any RW cards in this year's FUT, so a ShapeShifters version would be perfect. Also, the first team included Messi, who got a +2 rating from his gold card, so a similar boost to CR7 would put him right at 95."

Another player is a 92-rated French CB, and given there's not too many French defensive players with stats of that quality, we imagine this could be an inclusion for N'Golo Kante or Blaise Matuidi. We imagine it's more likely the former.

As for the third clue, well, it could be anyone. An 88-rated CM could be pretty much anyone over the park. Several sites have suggested Trent Alexander-Arnold, but that's a big old guess with little to suggest why the attacking Liverpool defender could be picked.

The following players were made available last Friday:

  1. Florian Kainz (LM-CAM) – Mainz
  2. Nahitan Nández (CM-CB) – Cagliari
