Grand Theft Auto 6 could feature a female protagonist for the first time—and be set in a Miami-inspired 'Vice City' again.
According to Bloomberg, Rockstar Games' long-awaited sequel to GTA V will include a Latina woman as one of two playable characters in a story inspired by 'Bonnie and Clyde'.
Some GTA fans have uncovered the CV of a Puerto Rican voice actor, Alexandra Cristina Echavarri, whose acting portfolio states she did voiceover work for a 'principal character' in a Rockstar Game.

Although this would line up with the claim that the game will feature a Latina protagonist, there's nothing to indicate that Echavarri herself worked on GTA 6 or another title.

The development of GTA 6 reportedly follows a culture shift at Rockstar, where employees previously described a workplace 'full of drinking, brawling, and excursions to strip clubs' as well as 'crunch'.
Now, the firm has allegedly 'reinvented' itself as a more 'compassionate' workplace.
However, while some fans have reacted to the news complaining the game is now 'woke', it's important to remember that simply including a character that isn't a man doesn't mean a game is trying to push an 'agenda'.

When does the GTA 6 trailer come out?
Unfounded rumours this week seemed to suggest that a trailer for GTA 6 will be released on August 7, next Sunday.
This was based on an image of a poster, supposedly found in-game in GTA Online, which referenced 'Vice City' with the date next to it.
This caused GTA fans to jump on the idea that the trailer was set to drop next weekend.
However, an eagle-eyed GTA 6 watcher on Twitter pointed out that this was an in-game poster from Max Payne 3, a different series entirely, released in May 2012.

When will GTA 6 be released?
Nobody knows yet when GTA 6 will be released, but some fans have speculated that, due to its Vice City setting, the game will be released in October 2022 to line up with the 20-year-anniversary of GTA Vice City.
Others have suggested that it could come out in March 2023 or even 2024, although this seems to have been based on a tarot card reading rather than actual evidence.
Past form suggests that Rockstar tends to release around 18 months to two years after officially announcing a game. GTA 6 was announced in February, which would mean a release in Autumn 2023—if Rockstar follows the same release calendar.
