League of Legends: Wild Rift launched its open beta in the Americas on March 29, and its first day on the mobile marketplace was a resounding success. According to new data from Sensor Tower, Wild Rift generated 2.9 million downloads from the App Store and Google Play that day – marking a 66-times increase from the day before.
“Sensor Tower data shows that on March 29, Wild Rift generated 2.9 million downloads from the App Store and Google Play, a 66-times increase from the day prior,” Craig Chapple, mobile insights strategist at Sensor Tower, shared with TheGamer. “The title also accumulated $285,000 in player spending, a rise of 142% from March 28.”
Chapple pointed out a few other interesting statistics, including the total League of Legends: Wild Rift install base – which is now hovering around 31.8 million downloads. As far as revenue is concerned, Wild Rift has pulled in an impressive $30 million. Considering the title is still in beta, those are some impressive figures.
“As for player spending, the U.S. ranked No. 1 with $154,000, or approximately 54% of total revenue,” Chapple said. “South Korea ranked No. 2, while Canada ranked No. 3.”
“Brazil ranked No. 1 for downloads globally, generating 929,000 installs, or 31.6% of all downloads. Mexico ranked No. 2, while the U.S. ranked No. 3.”
Wild Rift is clearly off to a strong start, with many players calling it a better version of the original PC title. The game is available for free on both iOS and Android, giving you access to a variety of champions that can all be earned without dropping a dime.
