Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver is apparently getting a PlayStation 5 remake

PlayStation fans should be familiar with Bluepoint Games, the studio that has been responsible for many of the PS4's best remastered classics.

The developer has done a lot of the heavy lifting when it's come to rereleasing such notable games as God of War, God of War II, Uncharted, Shadow of the Colossus and more besides.

Whilst we've previously heard rumours that the developer could be working on a Demon's Souls re-release (which is apparently going to appear on PS5 only ), a new whisper has emerged this week hinting that the developer has something else up its sleeve, too.

According to a leak over on 4chan – take everything you read from here on out with handfuls of salt – the developer is working on a cult classic next: Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver.

  • "A project that Bluepoints team particularly care about, and which is getting technical results very similar to those obtained with Shadow of the Colossus, with a really evocative experience of the environment of the game"

The game will reportedly be PlayStation 5 exclusive and is due to launch in 2021, and the reveal is – apparently – set to air during the Summer Game Fest, which means we could be waiting until August to see it.

We're dubious, but you never know – there's a lot of money in remakes at the moment, and we reckon this could get a good amount of attention.

Personally, this is one of my favourite games of all time and I've already argued it should be brought back on the PS5. So if we get a release, and these rumours end up not being totally bogus, I'm fully on-board.

We'll update you as we hear more.
