Life Is Strange Remastered Collection Releasing September 30, E3 Trailer Leaked

Two days before the Square Enix E3 showcase, a trailer for the Life Is Strange Remastered Collection has found its way online. Circulating on various gaming subreddits, the trailer shows the improved graphics in action, and reveals that it will be with us in just over two months.

In a trailer seen by TheGamer before being taken down, the main focus of the remastered collection appears to be improving the facial features and animations of characters, making them much more emotive. The colours have also been altered, making everything look much more rich and vibrant, while staying loyal to the more cartoony art style the series is known for.

Perhaps most importantly, the very end of the trailer gives us a release date of September 30, not far away at all. This might be closer than fans were expecting, as previously we just had “Fall 2021” to go by. Pre-orders will also go live after the official reveal this Sunday.

Life Is Strange Remastered Collection was officially announced in March, and contains both the first game and the 2017 prequel, Before the Storm, which focuses on Chloe’s life before being reunited with Max, as well as her relationship with Rachel Amber.

This release date puts the remastered collection just ahead of the planned launch of Life Is Strange: True Colors, which is set to be with us September 10. This will be the first game in the series to stray away from the episodic release format, with all five chapters going live at once. It follows up from Life Is Strange 2 and stars Alex Chen, a woman who sets out to solve the mystery behind her brother’s death. It will be developed by Deck Nine, as original developer Dontnod has since expressed an interest in distancing itself from the franchise.

Life Is Strange isn’t all we can expect from Square Enix’s E3 showcase. There will also be news on Marvel’s Avengers, Babylon’s Fall, and a world premiere from Eidos-Montréal.

The Square Enix showcase kicks off this Sunday at 12:15 PT/20:15 BST. It is set to run for approximately 40 minutes.
