Lu Bu Will Storm Theaters When Dynasty Warriors Releases In Hong Kong This April

Another video game franchise is making the leap to the big screen. Dynasty Warriors will be hitting theaters in Hong Kong on April 29. The popular hack and slash series created by Koei Tecmo will join the likes of other video games getting the movie treatment such as Mortal Kombat and Uncharted.

The trailer for Dynasty Warriors came out way back in 2018, so fans have been waiting patiently for a theatrical release date. It was originally supposed to debut a year later. Directed by Roy Chow Hin Yeung, the action-packed film looks to be keeping true to the source material.

It’s also being produced by both HMV Digital China Group LTD and Koei Tecmo. When you have the original publisher involved this does give hope that fans won’t be left disappointed with the adaptation.

Now, while a set date is set for the Hong Kong release, it is still unclear when other markets will get it or if it will even make it to North America.

When the Mortal Kombat trailer finally was revealed, we saw that it is staying true to the games and going to be very very bloody. In contrast to that is Tom Holland, who is portraying Nathan Drake in the upcoming Uncharted film, who revealed he is disappointed in his performance, which does not inspire confidence in the film itself.

Unfortunately with news of an actual release, fans of the franchise got word this week that Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires has been delayed “indefinitely.” The devs are still hard at work on the project and plan to deliver a great finished product. This comes according to a statement made by Koei Tecmo. Since they can’t play a new installment, at least the die-hard fans in Hong Kong have something to look forward to.
