Minecraft Ultimate Hunger Games Begins October 17, Pits 200+ Streamers Against Each Other For Charity

Minecraft Ultimate is an organization that regularly holds Hunger Game events, where content creators are pitted against each other in massive battles while trying to raise money for various charities. The next big showdown takes place on October 17 at 4pm EST and is being sponsored by Wasder, an online social gaming platform.

To date, the events have raised over $75,000 for charity, and Minecraft Ultimate is hoping to host at least 4 events each year to increase that number further. October’s sponsor, Wasder, is encouraging users to make donations to [email protected] – a non-profit organization that has been instrumental in the fight against Covid-19.

Minecraft Ultimate has held two season’s of the event so far, and its average viewership increased by more than 70,000 between the two. Here’s a brief rundown of the previous seasons’ stats:

Season 1

  • Peak Viewers: 255,000
  • Average Viewership: 145,000
  • Approximate Hours Watched: 345,000

Season 2

  • Peak Viewers: 230,000
  • Average Viewership: 218,000
  • Approximate Hours Watched: 723,000

Minecraft Ultimate and Wasder are hoping that this event will be even better than the last two, and stated, “Overall the participants bring over 200,000,000 subscribers via their channels.” There’s no doubt that the team has put together an impressive lineup of well-known streamers, and we’re curious to see how it all plays out on October 17. Here are a few of the top competitors this time around:

  • CaptainSparklez
  • BajanCanadian
  • JeromeASF
  • Badboyhalo
  • Destiny
  • Dedreviil
  • Mikecrack
  • FitMC
  • QuarterJade

Creators will be divided into teams of 4 and play in “an action-packed event lasting 2 hours long.” Each player will raise money individually for their charity of choice, but donations must be made through the Minecraft Ultimate website.

All told, the event seems like a great way to raise money for charities around the world. Minecraft Live wrapped up a few days ago, announcing a host of new content coming to the title. Taking advantage of Minecraft’s time in the spotlight to help fight Covid-19 is a fantastic idea, and we’re hopeful that Minecraft Ultimate will raise a bunch of money for [email protected]

The event will take place October 17 at 4pm EST. More info can be found at the official Minecraft Ultimate website.
