Modern Warfare 2 Remaster Releases Tomorrow

Several reports are indicating that a remaster of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be releasing tomorrow.

As per Eurogamer, an accurate leaked listing on the PlayStation Store illustrates that the long-rumored Modern Warfare 2 remaster will launch tomorrow, March 31. This is following a recent datamine dump on Reddit from leaker Senescallo, who formerly accurately leaked information regarding Call of Duty: Warzone.

The title for Modern Warfare 2‘s remaster is allegedly Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered. Its title clearly implies that the game will not include the game’s highly popular multiplayer mode, at least for the meantime.

The leak from Senescallo also includes information about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone that would supplement the release of a remaster for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. This includes the Underwater Demo Team Classic Ghost Bundle, which is included with the purchase of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered.

Further, one can purchase the Ghost Pack: Oil Rig Bundle to receive Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered. The leak from Senescallo indicates that this bundle will be 10,000 COD points. Of course, as this equates to about $80 USD, this is likely an amount to be changed upon tomorrow’s alleged release.

The game has been rumored for quite some time at this point. While the game is more renowned for its multiplayer component than its single-player component, Modern Warfare 2‘s campaign was still an explosive adventure with great water-cooler moments and epic slow-mo beats. As the game may have yet to be played by some, spoilers will be spared, but the game contains some of the series’ best scenes to date.

The original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered had been released back in 2016, originally paired with Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. It would later be released as a standalone package, which could be the lesson learned with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered.

The three-and-a-half-year time-lapse is somewhat awkward, though Eurogamer claims that its sources indicate that it had been ready to launch for some time. However, it was a matter of “when” given the annual Call of Duty releases.

If all is correct, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered will launch on unspecified platforms.
