Overwatch Anniversary 2021 event is launching soon. Blizzard has confirmed that the latest Overwatch Anniversary event will be launching on Tuesday May 18 and will be ending a few weeks later on Tuesday June 8. The official Overwatch Twitter confirmed the start date for this year’s Anniversary event over the weekend, when a trailer was revealed for the upcoming festivities.

The trailer also unveiled the first featured skin for the Overwatch Anniversary 2021 event – Funky Baptiste.

The announcement trailer, which had an infectious disco soundtrack and featured characters like Tracer dancing, also highlighted skins released during previous Anniversary events.

Announcing the upcoming Overwatch Anniversary event the @PlayOverwatch Twitter posted: “Party on the payload!

“Overwatch Anniversary begins May 18.”

Overwatch launch their Sigma Maestro Challenge

This year’s Overwatch event will celebrate five years of the hit shooter for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PCs.

A start time for the Overwatch Anniversary 2021 event hasn’t been confirmed yet, but the event is expected to kick off at 7pm UK time.

In the run-up to the next Overwatch Anniversary event the game’s official Twitter account has been teasing upcoming skins for the event.

Besides the aforementioned Funky Baptiste, Venus Moira and Black Cat Sombra will also be some of the upcoming Overwatch Anniversary 2021 skins.

The latest Overwatch Anniversary event will mark the earliest ever start date for the festivities.

Last year’s Overwatch Anniversary event began on May 19 and ended on June 9.

In terms of what to expect from the Overwatch Anniversary 2021 event, here’s a reminder of what last year’s festivities had in store for fans…

• Overwatch players were able to earn a Legendary Anniversary Loot Box containing at least one legendary item by logging in while the Anniversary event was taking place

• The brawl vault was unlocked giving players the chance to dive back into their favourite modes from previous seasonal events

• Take part in weekly challenges in Quick Play, Competitive Play or Arcade to unlock sprays, player icons and skins

• Seasonal skins and commemorative loot on offer
