Pokemon Stadium Nintendo Switch release date, time and new features

Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass subscribers are about to be treated to another N64 classic. The subscription service will add Nintendo 64 game Pokemon Stadium on April 12. Judging by previous Nintendo Switch Online updates, the Pokemon battle game will join the service at around 3pm BST UK time on Wednesday afternoon. The old-school Pokemon game features all 151 Pocket Monsters from the original line-up, as well as nine different mini-games.

“Witness thrilling 3D battles between Pokemon!” reads the official description. “This battle arena game, released for the Nintendo 64 console in 2000, features all 151 Pokemon from the Pokemon Red Version, Pokemon Blue Version, and Pokemon Yellow Version games.

“In Kids Club, you and three other players can enjoy nine different mini-games, like Clefairy Says and Sushi-Go-Round!”

Unfortunately, however, the Nintendo Switch Online version is missing one big feature. Unlike the original, players won’t be able to transfer Pokemon from the Game Boy titles.

On the plus side, Pokemon Stadium for Nintendo Switch Online features support for online multiplayer battles.

As a reminder, Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack costs £34.99 for an annual membership, or £59.99 as part of a Family membership.

As part of the subscription, members can play a selection of N64, Game Boy Advance and Sega Mega Drive games, as well as the SNES and NES titles available in the standard tier.

That’s on top of bonus content for Splatoon 3, Animal Crossing New Horizons and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

This includes the recently released Wave 4 Booster Pack Course for Mario Kart 8, which includes the Riverside Park track, DK’s Snowboard Cross and Yoshi’s Island.
