Pokémon Sword & Shield Max Raids Now Include Mewtwo, Kanto Starters
As every Pokémon fan celebrates National Pokémon Day, the Pokémon Company has made a robust variety of announcements to mark the holiday. From new updates to revealing the Pokémon of the year, there is plenty of exciting news circulating around the Pokémon community and internet as a whole. One of the surprise news items is a new set of Max Raids in Pokémon Sword & Shield.
The latest Pokémon games will receive a Mewtwo Max Raid battle along with the Kanto Starters. Mewtwo will be a tough fight but offer amazing rewards, and all three Kanto Starers will be available to catch in Pokémon Sword & Shield.
Unfortunately, it will not be possible to catch Mewtwo from a Max Raid battle. Instead, upon defeating the Pokémon (which many say is going to be a challenging task), players will receive a generous amount of rewards including things like Ability Capsules, PP Max, and a lot of other useful items. As a result, it would be in a player’s best interest to bring their strongest Pokémon into the fight since Mewtwo will be level 100 and will dish out massive damage.
Mewtwo and the Kanto Starters won’t be the only Pokémon to show up in Max Raid battles. As part of already ongoing events, Gigantamax Grimmsnarl, Kingler, Hatterene, Orbeetle, and Toxtricity will also show up from time to time with an increased chance. In return, they will prove to be an excellent opportunity for those who want to complete their Pokédex or get their hands on a Gigantamax form of a specific Pokémon.
The Mewtwo and Kanto Starters Max Raid event starts today and will run until March 2. Those who wish to take part in the event will have to truly dedicate their time to it since it won’t be available for long. Nonetheless, with such rare opportunities presenting themselves, it would be a good idea for all Pokémon trainers to gear up and give it their best. Some might just be lucky enough to get all three Kanto Starters and defeat Mewtwo for the rewards.
