Sniper Elite board game comes with a model of Hitler being shot in the balls

Hitler teste-kill figure from Sniper Elite board game

Playing Sniper Elite is no longer something that has to involve a console or PC, as Rebellion announce a board game version via Kickstarter.

If you’ve been caught wanting to play Sniper Elite in the middle of a power cut (and when your Switch was out of charge) then there’s finally a solution: Sniper Elite The Board Game.

Board game versions of big-name video games have become increasingly popular in recent years, with everything from Dark Souls to Gears Of War making the jump from digital to analogue.

Sniper Elite publisher and developer Rebellion has its own tabletop division, called Rebellion Unplugged, and so has started a Kickstarter campaign to create a board game version of the franchise.

The Kickstarter goal is a modest £22,000, so it’ll almost certainly get there, especially as the game is being co-designed by David Thompson, creator of War Chest, Castle Itter, and Undaunted.

Even so, turning a stealth game about sniping into a board game doesn’t seem the easiest thing in the world, but it’ll work by having one person be the sniper and up to three others controlling a squad of German soldiers. Although there’s also single-player player rules if you want to go solo.

The standard Cadet Edition of the game will cost £40 or you can pay £60 for the Marksman Edition and get some extra miniatures and clay tokens, or you can go up to £80 for the Elite Edition and get the Eagle’s Nest expansion and some characters from Zombie Army 4.

Everything but the Cadet Edition also comes with a ‘teste-kill’ version of Adolf Hitler being shot in the testicles (or should that be just testicle?). Which is not a sentence we thought we’d be writing today.

That’s not as random as it sounds either, as the x-ray kill cam is a key selling point of the video games, so even that gets represented in the board game.
