Star Wars: Squadrons receiving free Mandalorian DLC tomorrow

To advertise The Mandalorian’s second season, Star Wars: Squadrons is getting some free cockpit cosmetics.

Star Wars fans are getting ready for when The Mandalorian Season 2 drops on Disney+ this Friday and so too is EA’s most recent Star Wars game.

Star Wars: Squadrons only came out earlier this month but it will be receiving a tie-in in the form of free cosmetic DLC, which can be earned in-game.

The DLC will be made available tomorrow Wednesday, October 28 and will consist of eight cockpit cosmetics, four for the New Republic faction and four for the Galactic Empire.

Specifically, that’s two holograms, two decals, two hanging flairs, and two dashboard flairs.

And yes, one of the cosmetics is of Baby Yoda, or The Child as he’s officially known. The dashboard flair for the New Republic ships is a bobblehead figure of the fan-favourite character.

Developer Motive had previously stated it had no DLC plans for Squadrons, though it was likely referring to major content expansions, whereas this is a much smaller and simpler promotional tie-in.

Although very good, Star Wars: Squadrons is a smaller scale release than usual for EA, being both shorter and cheaper than other Star Wars games.

As such it’s not clear whether the lack of major DLC means it’s a one and done deal or if the reverse will be true and standalone sequels will be produced more quickly than usual.

Star Wars: Squadrons is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
