The two PS4 Uncharted games are being remastered for PC and PS5 and sold as the Uncharted: Legacy Of Thieves Collection.
Rumours of a PC version of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection have been circulating for a while now but in the end, what was announced at the PlayStation Showcase was the opposite: remasters of the two most recent entries in the series.
The two remasters are being bundled together and sold as Uncharted: Legacy Of Thieves Collection, with the PlayStation 5 version out in ‘early’ 2022 and the PC version, by Iron Galaxy, due out some time ‘shortly after’.
It was a brief announcement and, like GTA 5, there was no real explanation of what will be improved, although 4K resolution and 60fps gameplay seems like a given.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End was originally released for PlayStation 4 in 2016 and was widely hailed as one of the best games of the generation.
It also seemed to be a relatively definitive end to the story of Nathan Drake, with spin-off adventure The Lost Legacy – which initially started as DLC – featuring Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross instead.
The Lost Legacy featured a lot of reused assets, including borrowing a whole action sequence from Uncharted 2, but with the same strong production values as all Naughty Dog games it was still a lot of fun.
There’s been much speculation recently on whether there’ll ever be an Uncharted 5, especially given Naughty Dog seems to be done with the series.
Days Gone developer Bend Studio did apparently start a new project but rumours suggest that was cancelled and if there is anyone working on a new game it’s currently a mystery as to who.
