Watch both Fatalities for Spawn in latest Mortal Kombat 11 videos

Spawn is very much defined by his weapons: the cape and chains he uses are the key to his dominion of his enemies.

It's good news, then, that Mortal Kombat 11 developers NetherRealm has really focused on this iconic elements and brought them to life in the fighting game.

Where better to showcase the hard work and research that's gone into making Spawn play like he should than in his finishing moves – the (in)famous Mortal Kombat fatalities?

"In Spawn’s Fatality, “Rest in Pieces,” his cape and chains work together to orchestrate a symphony of blood," Dominic Cianciolo, cinematic director at NetherRealm Studios writes on the PS Blog.

"As Spawn’s cape grabs the beaten opponent, his chains tear him or her apart."

In the video above, you'll also see the other fatality you can perform with the character – a more vicious animation that sees Simmons smother the enemy with his cape and run them through with his demonic chains.

Violent, but in keeping with his character, for sure.

We'll have the inputs for you, telling you how to perform these finishing moves yourself, on Spawn's release day.

Spawn joins Mortal Kombat 11 on March 17 as part of the early access period for Kombat Pack owners, followed and will be available to anyone else playing the game on March 24.

Kombat Pack owners will get to download the amazing-looking “Hellspawn” Jacqui Briggs skin and Matinee Skin Pack (which features features “Osh Tekk Vandal” Kotal Kahn, “Swashbuckler” Erron Black and “Space Marine” Jacqui Briggs) on March 17.
