A number of customers have received warnings from Amazon that their new Xbox Series X console might not arrive for several weeks.
It’s the launch of the Xbox Series X and S today and while most shops are out of stock there’s still a few where you have a chance of picking up a new console straight away.
Amazon is not of those though and it seems it may have trouble delivering existing pre-orders, let alone take any more.
A number of people on social media have reported receiving emails from Amazon, warning they might not get their new console until the end of the year.
‘At this time, we anticipate that you will receive your Xbox Series X by 12/31 or before. We are making every effort to get it to you as soon as possible and apologise for any inconvenience.’
No-one seems to have received a similar warning about the Xbox Series S, which has generally not been in quite as high demand as the more expensive Xbox Series X.
There’s no reports of other stores having similar stock problems but that doesn’t mean they won’t happen, as, unlike the PlayStation 5, the Xbox Series X/S is launching worldwide at the same time – and that’s going to be a logistical nightmare at the best of times.
