Rainbow Six Siege's Ying Is Becoming A More Offensive Spearhead Thanks To New Patch

Ubisoft has revealed the Operator changes for Rainbow Six Siege in Update Y5S1.2. In this update, five Operators are being adjusted–Ying, Jäger, Mozzie, Buck, and Goyo–with Ying getting a noticeable buff to up her utility in combat. A few guns are getting balance changes too.

In a the update’s patch notes, Ubisoft writes that the update replaces Ying’s claymore (which recently replaced her frag grenades) with smoke grenades, a change the developer hopes will “increase the level of synergy she deploys when spearheading” the attacking team’s assault, specifically when it comes to circumventing Mira’s Black Mirrors or Goyo’s Volcàn Shields.

The update also ups the damage on Ying’s T-95 LSW light machine gun from 43 to 46 and the number of Candelas she has from three to four. Both changes should help her both disorient and deal out damage more quickly, which in turn will likely increase her utility both as the first one to breach an enemy’s team defenses and her likelihood of winning a one-on-one duel.

The other four Operators don’t have as many changes, though their respective adjustments will still likely have an influence on their in-match meta. Both Jäger and Mozzie’s changes, for example, are aimed at keeping players from roaming as much. Meanwhile the adjustments made to Buck and Goyo are more straightforward buffs and nerfs.

Jäger has gone from an Operator with level three speed and level one armor to one with level two speed and level two armor in order to encourage players to stick a bit closer to their teammates and not roam as much. Mozzie loses his Super Shorty, the extremely powerful shotgun that assisted in the defender’s ability to safely roam and escape from ambushes with explosive firepower.

Buck gains claymores at the cost of his frag grenades and gets a nice buff to his Skeleton Key’s magazine size and total number of rounds, which allows him to continue to be one of the game’s best breach attackers while removing the offensive power he shares with Sledge (who has fallen in utility thanks to Buck’s usefulness). “By removing his frags and giving more gadget ammunition, we expect players to have to operate a choice between an excellent downward attacker and a versatile soft breacher,” Ubisoft wrote. Goyo loses one of his Volcàn Shields, dropping the total number from three to two–a change that’s likely to be more immediately felt on the professional esport side of the game, not in casual play.

Amazon Prime Day Reportedly Delayed Due To Coronavirus Pandemic

Since 2015, Amazon has held its massive Prime Day sale in July each year, offering big discounts on thousands of products on its storefront, including great deals on PS4, Xbox One, and Switch games. But it looks like this year’s Prime Day will miss its expected July date due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Reuters has reported that it viewed “internal meeting notes” revealing Prime Day will be delayed until August at the earliest. Given the fact that Amazon is currently prioritizing shipping household and health items, it’s not surprising that a sale featuring a significant number of non-essential items across categories like tech and entertainment would be delayed. Last month, Amazon announced it was suspending stock shipments to its warehouses for non-essential goods until April 5.

Amazon doesn’t reveal dates for its events–including Prime Day–until right before the sales begin, so it’s possible we won’t learn the new Prime Day window for months. The retailer declined to comment on Reuters’ report.

The coronavirus pandemic has led to cancellations and postponements of many events and entertainment releases, including GDC and E3. With theaters closed across the world, a bunch of movies have transitioned to early digital releases. This week, Sony indefinitely delayed the highly-anticipated PS4 exclusive The Last of Us Part II, which was scheduled to launch May 29.

Resident Evil 3 Remake Weapon Parts Guide: Where To Find Each Upgrade

Resident Evil 3 Remake makes it clear right from the outset that you’re in for a tough fight against the undead and Umbrella Corporation’s unstoppable bio-weapon, Nemesis. It will be tough to survive in Raccoon City, but in traditional survival horror fashion, you’ll be able to find an assortment of items and weapons to help even the odds. However, some are more challenging to locate than others, and they can make all the difference in surviving your encounters with the deadly bio-weapon.

Just like in the Resident Evil 2 Remake, you can find special upgrades for Jill and Carlos’ weapons. With this in mind, GameSpot has put together a quick guide that details how to find all of the available gun parts to find throughout Resident Evil 3.

Jill’s G19 Handgun

Handgun Dot Sight: This upgrade can is located in the art storage room across from the Kite Bros Subway Office in Downtown. Inside the storage room is a locked safe, and next to it is a note from the dead owner. This note will give you a clue on how to unlock the safe, which will take you to the nearby Drugstore, which is next door to the Kite Bros. office. In the back of the store is an Aqua Cure poster, which has three numbers circled–this is the combination key for the safe. Head back to the art storage room and unlock the safe to get the handgun dot sight, which will increase accuracy for the G19. | For convenience, if you want access to the safe, then the combination is left 9, right 1, left 8.

Extended Magazine and Handgun Moderator: Both of these upgrades drop from Nemesis. Once it has taken enough damage, it’ll drop an Umbrella storage case, which houses ammo and upgrades. The tricky part about this is that the drops are tied to the current point of the story, so if you wait too long to take him out, you’ll miss out on certain upgrades. Also, the drops are only available during the Downtown section of the game, so they can be easy to miss.

There are two opportunities to do this: The first is during the chase immediately after the Power Station (which will give you the Extended Magazine), and the second is when Nemesis chases Jill once again after infecting zombies with the parasite, right outside the Donut Shop (which will drop the Moderator). The best way to knock Nemesis out are the various explosive barrels scattered around. Once he gets close enough, shoot the barrel to take him down easily. Remember, these are the only two opportunities to get the upgrades, so if you miss one or both of them and progress the story, you won’t be able to get them at all.

Jill’s M3 Shotgun

Tactical Stock: This upgrade is the second reward you can get from the Kite Bros. Monument in the Subway station entrance. Scattered across Downtown are three different Fancy Boxes housing Red, Green, and Blue jewels. To find all three, you’ll need the lockpick and bolt cutters. The first one is located in the Donut Shop’s backroom, while the other two are located in the chained up Grocery Store (opened with the Bolt Cutters) and the locked Toy Store (opened with the Lockpick). Once you have all the jewels, insert them into the statue in the subway to get a grenade, the Shotgun upgrade, and a hip pouch. This upgrade will increase the overall accuracy of the Shotgun.

Semi-Auto Barrel: After the first boss fight with Nemesis, you’ll reach Kendo’s Gun Shop. Check the shelves near the front door for ammo, green herbs, and the upgrade, which will increase the Shotgun’s fire-rate.

Shell Holder: Shortly after the Hospital, you’ll enter Underground Storage. This area is a massive puzzle filled with enemies, along with some hidden items scattered around. This upgrade is located in the back of the warehouse near a staircase, after you fight some zombie dogs and one lone zombie. On the ground level by the staircase is a switch that will lower one of the lifts, opening a shadowy corner that holds a chest containing the Shell Holder. This upgrade will increase reload speed for the Shotgun.

Jill’s Lightning Hawk

Extended Magazine: Shortly after finding all three fuses to activate the lift in Underground Storage, you’ll enter the command center for the area. Before examining the row of computers, check behind it, near the big window, to find a case containing the Lighting Hawk’s only upgrade. The extended barrel will decrease the gun’s recoil while also increasing its attack power.

Carlos’ CQBR Assault Rifle

AR Scope: Shortly after arriving at R.P.D. Station, you’ll encounter a zombified Brad Vickers. While you can ignore him, taking him down will earn you the S.T.A.R.S. ID, which will open up locked chests throughout the station. The case with Carlos’ first weapon upgrade is in the West Office. To get there, you’ll need to head through Reception towards the north hallway. When you get to the area full of zombies, you’ll find doorways going to the R.P.D. Armory and West Office. Inside the office is a S.T.A.R.S. chest. Use the ID card you got from Brad to open it and get the AR Scope, increasing the accuracy for the rifle.

Tactical Grip: This upgrade is located in the Courtyard of Spencer Memorial Hospital. Upon getting to the second floor, you’ll find broken windows that allow you to leap down into the Courtyard, which has some additional items to pick up. The broken window by the door leading to the Nurse’s Station leads down to an area that has a green herb and a chest with the Tactical Grip. This will decrease the weapon’s recoil.

Dual Magazines: The last upgrade for Carlos is located in the safe in the Nurse’s Station. To open up access to the safe, you’ll need to get the combination key from a note in the surgery room on the first floor. To get access to this, you’ll need the Hospital ID from the Staff Room on the second floor. Read the note found in the surgery room to get the combination for the safe, which will unlock access to the Dual Magazines. This upgrade doubles the amount of ammo the rifle has in a single clip, from 32 to 64. | For convenience, if you want access to the safe, then the combination is left 9, right 3.

Atari VCS designer sues company for unpaid salary

The chief architect of the Atari VCS — the crowdfunded Linux gaming PC whose launch has been delayed repeatedly — has sued the company, saying he was not paid for six months of work in designing the console.

Rob Wyatt, who was also the system architect of the first Xbox, says he is owed more than $260,000 by Atari Gamebox, the company behind the Atari VCS. Wyatt quit the company in October over the unpaid salary. Wyatt’s lawsuit, filed in federal court in Colorado, says that when he demanded full payment in October, Atari claimed that he had delayed the console and hadn’t performed his work on the schedule they agreed upon.

The Atari VCS might be the next crowdfunded console, but who is this for?

“In fact, it was Atari’s own mismanagement of the Console Project that was the cause of or reason for the delayed launch of the console Project,” the lawsuit says, “and not because Tin Giant [Wyatt’s personal corporation] had failed to perform the Agreement.”

Wyatt’s suit goes on to say Atari employees, including chief executive Frederic Chesnais, blamed Wyatt in statements to the media about the Atari VCS’ delay. Wyatt is suing Atari both for the unpaid money and for defamation.

Polygon has reached out to Atari representatives for additional comment. VentureBeat, which reported the lawsuit on Thursday, said Chesnais declined to comment, saying he hadn’t gotten a copy of the lawsuit yet.

What is Atari doing funding RollerCoaster Tycoon on an equity crowdfunding platform?

The Atari VCS was conceived in 2017 (as the “Ataribox”) and funded in 2018 with $3,058,123 in pre-orders on Indiegogo. It was originally planned to launch sometime in the spring of 2019. Atari announced a delay in March 2019, and three months later moved the launch date to March 2020, with Indiegogo donors getting their units by the end of the year.

Then in December, the company said donors would not be getting their machine that month, but that the delay was a matter of “weeks, not months.” In February, the company posted a note that obliquely mentioned its factory in China had been closed because of the novel coronavirus outbreak.

Most recently, on March 20, the company said it had enough parts to manufacture its first 500 Atari VCS units, and that it was working hard with its Chinese factory and supply chain to expand production to fulfill Indiegogo pre-orders. But that message didn’t say how many backers have gotten their units (only that a good portion were earmarked as development kits) or give a time frame for the VCS’ retail launch.

The Atari VCS, despite its name, is not a throwback mini-console; it’s a Linux gaming PC, with a high-end AMD processor, 4GB of RAM, plus 4K and HDR support, and it sells for $249.99.

Last Of Us Part II’s Latest Screenshots Show Ellie Fighting For Her Life

Naughty Dog has just released some brand new screenshots from The Last of Us Part II that show our beloved badass Ellie fighting for her life. Along with a few other awesome scenes.

This comes just after Naughty Dog and Sony made the saddening announcement that the release of Part II is to be delayed indefinitely. This was apparently an immensely difficult decision to make, but was made with the “global crisis” at the forefront of their minds.

With us gamers all over the world having been prepared for a reunion with our favorite clicker-killing duo Ellie and Joel in May this year, we’re all but entirely floored by this announcement. But as a little treat the developers have released a series of truly stunning screenshots from the game. It feels like a beacon of hope, reminding us that this too is just another temporary setback.

Sure, many of us were looking forward to the game’s release next month as another comfort to immerse ourselves in whilst being stuck in quarantine. However, the developers presumably figured it would actually be a disservice to the fans of The Last Of Us if Part 2 were to be unleashed upon us in amongst all of the unrest and uncertainty currently plaguing the world thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic.

With a buildup of seven years since the astoundingly successful first game’s initial release, it would be a shame to have its successor’s induction dampened in any way due to the current state of affairs. And although we don’t have much of a choice now, these shots are a pretty clear indication that Part II is indeed something we should be willing to wait just a little longer for.

Call of Duty Just 360 Noscoped Humvee Manufacturers In The Courtroom

Activision does, in fact, have the right to use Humvees as a mode of transport in their Call of Duty games, a New York federal judge ruled. AM General LLC, the Humvee manufacturer, took the publisher to court over the “unauthorized depiction” of their vehicles back in 2017, and their case was dismissed on Tuesday.

AM General had claimed that Activision was knowingly infringing upon their trademark – especially since some of their promotional events for the games had a Humvee present – and that players were “deceived into believing that AM General licenses the games.”

However, US District Court Judge George B. Daniels decided that the vehicle’s depiction falls under the First Amendment as it helps maintain realism in the games, noting that Activision’s use of the Humvee does not confuse users in any way. This means that there is really nobody out there who is going to think Activision is selling the Humvee in any way, shape or form, which is AM General’s job.

Judge Daniels also wrote that it was “metaphysically possible for [Activision] to have produced video games without the presence of Humvees,” but adds that, “If realism is an artistic goal, then the presence in modern warfare games of vehicles employed by actual militaries undoubtedly furthers that goal.”

Magic: The Gathering card to change its name because of the coronavirus pandemic

Wizards of the Coast announced Thursday it’s renaming its new “Spacegodzilla, Death Corona” Magic: The Gathering card due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. The new Ikoria: Lair of the Behemoths set will include a special series of kaiju crossover inserts. While physical cards have already been printed, Wizards of the Coast said it’s “taking steps to remove or change the card where possible.”

Reprints of Ikoria will replace the card with the renamed “Spacegodzilla, Void Invader.”

“Months ago, when Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths was finalized, the world was a very different place,” Wizards of the Coast said in a news release on its site. “As we all adjust to a world altered by the spread of COVID-19, the word ‘corona’ has taken on a new meaning,” the company wrote. “In context, the card we’re about to show you made sense when it was originally conceived — ‘the Corona Beam’ is Spacegodzilla’s traditional breath weapon.”

Wizards of the Coast also said the “Death Corona” card won’t be distributed in digital versions of the game, including Magic Online and Magic: The Gathering Arena.

The company announced in March that it’s changing the way it launches its new cards in lieu of coronavirus pandemic. Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths will have a prerelease weekend that doesn’t require in-store events.

Grindstone Gets A Lot Of New Content In Surprise Update

Grindstone, the Apple Arcade exclusive from developer Capybara Games, has received a surprise update that adds a lot of new content to the color-matching puzzler.

Since launch, Grindstone has only received small content updates, mostly to celebrate seasonal events. Today, however, you can look forward to 15 new levels, a new enemy that eats other creeps and steals their colors, and three new weapons to purchase. The update is live now and available as long as you’re still subscribed to Apple Arcade.

Grindstone launched with Apple Arcade last year, and remains one of the best games on the service. There’s still no way to purchase it outright in case it’s the only reason you’re still subscribed, but a whole new world of levels is a good reason to keep the subscription going for at least one more month.

Grindstone is great at exposing your greed, tempting you to stay within a level as long as you can to reap more rewards before moving on. It’s also comically violent, although you can tone that down if you like. Seeing enemies explode into little colorful cubes never gets old though.
